About STME
Southern Textile Machinery and Equipments has been
manufacturing new generation TFO's and a host of textile
spare parts for over three decades now. The company
has capabilities extending from manufacturing to assembly,
to erection and service support for leading manufacturers
of TFO machines from around the world. Every machine
and textile spare manufactured at STME comes with
the guarantee of top grade performance and conforms
to world standards.
Managing Director
At the helm of affairs at STME is its Managing Director,
Mr. P. Venkatachalam, who has had three decades of
experience in the textile industry. Having worked
with leaders like LMW, Veejay LAkshmi and Star Volkmann,
he brings to the company, in-depth technical and market
knowledge.
He founded STME in 1988 and began importing substitute
components for Volkmann supplied TFOs. Buoyed by the
success of STME, Mr. P. Venkatachalam went on to found
a textile manufacturing company and an accessory manufacturing
unit. As part of the expansion plans, he started a
CNC machine shop in order to cater to the growing
demands of precision machined components in the international
front.
Infrastructure
Infrastructure support at STME focuses on creating
an ideal manufacturing setting for producing world
class machinery and spares. Two decades of experience
in the industry has given the company an advantage
of understanding the finer details of machinery and
textile spares production
Research & Development
With the opening up of the Indian economy in the early
1990s, it became imperative for companies in the textile
industry to compete with global machinery manufacturers.
At STME, this meant building on the company's strengths
to produce customised solutions for their growing
clientele. The result of years of research and development
led to the creation of STME's own TFO machine - the
Fine Twist.
